Super Stamina

August 24, 2011

Hey, what’s up? It’s Max, and thanks for checking out our blog. As you know, I really like baseball (Kwon Do does, too), and today when Dr. Ling came into my room, he was talking to us about Cal Ripken, Jr. You see, Cal Ripken, Jr. is a baseball player who played his long career with the Baltimore Orioles, and he holds the record for the most games played in a row by a Major League Baseball player…which is 2,632 games! No breaks! That’s amazing! He always gave 100% when he was on the field, and he always pushed himself to do and play the very best that he could. His nickname is “Iron Man,” and I sure know why. Now Kwon Do wants to be called “Iron Dog!”

Cal Ripken, Jr., is also known as one of the best shortstops in baseball. That’s the position between second and third base in the infield. He won the 1982 American League Rookie of the Year, the American League Most Valuable Player in 1983 and 1991, the Gold Glove in 1991 and 1992, and he was All-Star MVP in 1991 and 2001. He’s also in the National Baseball Hall of Fame. I’d like to be in that someday!

There’s just one more thing I should tell you about Cal Ripken, Jr., and it’s that today is his birthday! And Dr. Ling, Kwon Do, and I hope it’s a great one!

Bye for now!
