Love is in the Air!

Hi from McPopper Children’s Hospital! It’s Lily at the computer, and I hope all of you had a Happy Valentine’s Day! I always like Valentine’s Day because there are signs of the holiday all around the hospital. There are red heart decorations on the walls of the playroom, there are roses in the hospital entryway, and we all get into the spirit with our outfits. My mom got me red pajamas, Samantha wore her hot pink scrub uniform, and even Dr. Ling had on a light pink tie with white hearts on it.

I like Valentine’s Day because it’s the perfect time to tell your family and friends how much you care about them. It’s a day to celebrate love, and that’s very special! What’s also special is that my class decorated and signed a big Valentine’s Day card for me, and my teacher brought it to me yesterday. It was really nice to see her, and now the card is up on my wall for all of my visitors to look at.

And speaking of cards, Max and I spent a lot of yesterday decorating and coloring Valentine’s Day cards that we made for Samantha, Dr. Ling, and our parents. The Hospital Critterz made the cards with us, too. Ping & Pong and Day Z Girl were especially helpful when we tried to draw different flowers like roses, carnations, and chrysanthemums. Another reason that I like Valentine’s Day is because it’s a great reason to be creative and make things for others to let them know how much you appreciate them!

So from all of us here at the hospital, we wish you a Happy Valentine’s Day! You are our valentines, and we are very thankful. And don’t forget…have a critterrific day!
