Basketball Mania!

April 4, 2012

Hey, what’s up? It’s me, Max, and March Madness has come to an end…which I guess makes sense because it’s April! On Monday night, the Kentucky Wildcats beat the Kansas Jayhawks in the NCAA Basketball Championship. And while a lot of the games in the NCAA tournament were really close, it seemed like the Jayhawks never really got into a groove versus the Wildcats, and the Wildcats even led during the game by as many as 18 points! The final score was 67 to 59, and the Wildcats really dominated.

What I thought was interesting about the game was that Anthony Davis, a player on Kentucky who a lot of people (and critterz!) think is this year’s best college basketball player, had only one field goal in ten attempts, and he’s usually a really big scorer! But, in the championship game, he was awesome on defense with 16 defensive rebounds and 6 blocked shots. I think it shows that there is a lot more to being a good basketball player than just being able to score points. To be a truly great player, you have to be able to defend your basket as well as be aggressive on offense. Being a team player and good sport is  what really makes a champion!

Bye for now!
