“Mom’s” the Word!

Hi from McPopper Children’s Hospital! It’s Lily at the computer today, and I hope you’re having a great week. There’s a special holiday coming up on Sunday. Can you guess what it is? It’s Mother’s Day! And Mother’s Day always falls on the second Sunday of May (which this year is May 13th). Fishy Kitty is helping Max make a card on the computer that he’s going to print out and sign for his mom, and I’m drawing a card for my mom with Mr. McPopper’s markers. I hope my mom likes it!

But Mother’s Day isn’t just about moms. Cherry-Ot reminded me that the word “mother” is a verb, too, which means “to care for.” So Mother’s Day is really a day to celebrate all of the people in your life who have cared for you. Whether that’s your mom, aunt, grandma, cousin, sibling, or friend, Mother’s Day is a great time to thank the person (or people!) who have given you love and support. It’s a day to celebrate the people who are always there for you and believe in you 100%!

Here’s wishing all of you a happy and critterrific Mother’s Day!
