A Pirate Party!

Ahoy, mateys! (That means hello, friends!) What’s up? It’s me, Max, and today is International Talk Like a Pirate Day! How cool is that? One of the easiest ways to talk like a pirate today is just to replace the word “my” with the word “me” and replace the word “you” with the word “ye.” So today I’ll say, “International Talk Like a Pirate Day is one of me favorite days for sure, and I hope ye like it, too!” Cherry Ot told me some awesome words and phrases that I’m going to try to use when I talk to people. And you can use them, too!

“Aye” means “Yes”
“Blimey!” means “I’m surprised!”
“Avast!” means “Check it out!”
“Heave ho!” means “Push hard with your muscles!”
“Shiver me timbers!” means “Oh my gosh!”
“Matey” and “Bucko” mean “Friend”
“Handsomely” means “Quickly”

Aren’t those words cool? Me think so. I hope ye all have an excellent Talk Like a Pirate Day. Hopefully the day won’t go by too handsomely so I can practice me accent. Bye for now, buckos!
