Motherly Love

Hey, what’ s up? It’s me, Max, and from all of us here at McPopper Children’s Hospital, we’d like to wish you all a Happy (Belated) Mother’s Day! Mother’s Day always falls on the second Sunday in the month of May, and it’s a day to celebrate mothers around the world and honor them for all their hard work. This year I made my mom a card that I cut out of blue construction paper, and I wrote “World’s Best Mom” on it. I think she really liked it! But it’s important to remember that Mother’s Day isn’t just about “mothers.” While you can celebrate your mom, there are all sorts of families and all sorts of special people who act in motherly ways. In fact, if you look up the word “mother” in the dictionary, it says that it’s someone who cares for others and protects them. This can be anyone in your life, no matter his or her relationship to you. To mother someone means to care about someone, support them, and love them. So whoever that person (or Critter!) is in your life, be sure to thank that special someone for always being there for you. That’s really what Mother’s Day is all about!

Be sure to write to us and let us know about amazing people in your life!

Bye for now!
