You’re My Pal

July 10, 2013

Hey, what’s up? It’s me, Max, and thanks for checking out our blog! Today at the hospital, Beary Bruised was teaching all of us about palindromes. Do you know what a palindrome is? It’s a word, phrase, or group of numbers that can be read the same backwards and forwards. For example, the word “mom” is a palindrome because it spells out mom whether you read it from left to right or right to left. (Dad also works!) Here are some other cool examples:

Racecar is racecar

Madam is madam

Kayak is kayak

Then there are phrases (which are my favorite):

Was it a car or a cat I saw?

Never odd or even.

No lemon, no melon.

And of course numbers work, too:

Cool, huh? The year 2002 was a palindrome. The next one coming is 2112. Pretty neat!

Can you come up with some palindromes? Be sure to post them on our blog.

Bye for now!
