Votes for Women!

Hi from McPopper Children’s Hospital! It’s Lily at the computer, and I hope you’re doing well. Today is Women’s Equality Day! It’s a day when we get to commemorate when 19th amendment was turned into law, and women were granted the right to vote. That happened on August 26, 1920…that’s 95 years ago! Wow! Then, in 1971, a resolution passed that officially made August 26th Women’s Equality Day. How neat is that? We have U.S. representative Bella Abzug from New York to thank for introducing legislation for Women’s Equality Day, along with the countless other women and men who fought tirelessly for equality. So on behalf of the future generations of women who get to enjoy this equality, we salute you!

We hope you have an awesome (and totally critterrific) Women’s Equality Day!
