Hi from McPopper Children’s Hopsital! It’s Lily at the computer, and I hope you’re having an awesome day. Did you know that July is National Blueberry Month? Blueberries are one of my favorite fruits because they not only taste great, but they’re great for you. So in honor of National Blueberry Month, we have some fun facts about blueberries that we’d like to share with you. Enjoy!

• Blueberries are full of fiber, vitamins, and minerals.

• Blueberries are sometimes used as a natural food dye. Blue coloring, anyone?

• The states that grow the highest number of blueberries are Michigan, Oregon, and Washington.

• Whether you want blueberry pie, blueberry scones, blueberry muffins, blueberry yogurts, or blueberry pancakes (to name a few), blueberries make a yummy and healthy addition to so many snacks and meals!

We hope you have a critterrific blueberry-filled month!

Believe in Yourself!

July 6, 2016

Hey, what’s up? It’s me, Max, and I hope you’re having an awesome day! Today I wanted to write about the importance of believing in yourself. There are times when we all begin to doubt ourselves and our abilities. Maybe others around us make us feel inferior, or perhaps we’re just unsure about our own strengths. When the self-doubt enters your head, just remember how awesome you are. You’re truly amazing so don’t let anyone make you feel otherwise. The only one who can make you feel inferior is you, so it’s time to stop doubting yourself. You’re a special and terrific person with so much to offer the world. Don’t ever forget that!

Bye for now!

Hi from McPopper Children’s Hospital! It’s Lily at the computer, and I hope you’re having an awesome day! June is coming to a close, but I wanted to remind you that June is National Zoo and Aquarium Month! There’s no better time to visit the zoos and aquariums located around the country and look at all of the amazing wildlife, both on land and under the sea. Animals are so important to all of us, and it’s up to us to care for them and the Earth. Don’t forget to recycle, try to save water, and always treat animals with love, kindness, and respect. They’re critterrific!

We hope you have a critterrific day!

Hey, what’s up? It’s me, Max, and I hope you’re having an awesome day! Did you know that June is National Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Month? But I guess it’s not that surprising since so many delicious fruits and vegetables are available during the summer months. Some of my favorite summer fruits are peaches, nectarines, and plums, and some of my favorite summer veggies are corn, eggplant, and zucchini. Whenever I eat them, it reminds me of summer. And that makes me very happy!

What are your favorite summer fruits and vegetables? Be sure to let us know!

Bye for now!

New Friends Rock!

Hi from McPopper Children’s Hospital! It’s Lily at the computer, and I hope you’re having a great day. Now that it’s summer, our friends from school may have scattered or have gone out of town. And whether you’re starting a summer camp soon or just spending the summer break doing different activities, there’s no better time to make some new friends. If you’re wondering how to make new friends, the best advice is really to be yourself. Don’t be afraid to introduce yourself to other kids that you don’t know. There’s no need to be shy because you’re awesome! Keep being the kind, special, and amazing person you are, and making friends will be a snap!

We hope you have a critterrific day making new friends!

The Power of Friendship

Hey, what’s up? It’s me, Max, and I hope you’re having an awesome day. Today I wanted to write about the importance of friendship. A good friend is someone who is kind, considerate, and supportive. We can all strive to be a better friend, and through both our actions and our words, we can show our friends how much we care about them and are always there for them. Whether it’s lending a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on, or simply being around to have a good laugh, we should all work to be the best friend that we can be!

Bye for now!

Hi from McPopper Children’s Hospital! It’s Lily at the computer, and I hope you’re having a great week. Since it’s now June, I’m happy to announce that it’s officially National Adopt a Cat Month! There are so many amazing, loving, and wonderful cats and kittens who are just waiting for equally amazing, loving, and wonderful people to give them a happy home. I am a huge cat lover, and there are so many different kinds of cats, from calico, Siamese, Sphinx, Himalayan, and Siberian (to name a few), and they all have such beautiful and distinct fur and eye color.

So in honor of National Adopt a Cat Month, we’d like to remind everyone just how awesome cats truly are. And if you or someone you know is looking to adopt a cat or kitten, there’s no better time than right now! And don’t forget…have a critterrific cat-filled day!
